A ranking of the most innovative companies in the world ends up becoming a kind of portrait of the most admired. This is what can be seen from the list of the Most Innovative Companies in the World in 2023, released in March by Fast Company. The relationship begins with OpenAI, responsible for ChatGPT, which has expanded access to Artificial Intelligence resources, and includes Nubank in fifth place – the only Brazilian company among the 50 selected, “for coming up with new ways for people to save”.

The list, which also includes companies such as McDonald's, Airbnb and Microsoft, is a synthesis of how much innovation favors the attraction and retention of the best talent, improves the company's image before stakeholders and generates a competitive advantage, contributing to strengthen results and the market value of an organization. By generating these advantages, it impacts reputation.

One of the findings of the survey is that the differences between technology companies and all others are beginning to disappear. As they move towards digital transformation, even established companies assume a new organizational culture. Virtually every organization is now a technology company, claims Fast Company, a well-known brand in business media with an editorial focus on innovation, technology, leadership, world-changing ideas, creativity and design.
